Situated in the southwest corner of the county, is the city of Beaman.
Once known as a center for livestock shipping, Beaman has made the
transition, like many small Iowa cities, to a community of well-kept
homes with owners working outside the city. Local residents like to
point to the fact that Beaman is "It's Own Community" and living here
allows the inhabitants the luxury of living in a small town close to
nearly everything.
Conrad

Conrad is a vibrant community of just over 1000 people, who are still
keen on encouraging growth and development. Slated for completion in
2008, is a new state-of-the-art library that will serve well as a hub of
the downtown district. A combination of central location, close
proximity to various air services and short distance to interstate
highways, makes Conrad readily accessible for commerce. Conrad has seen
remarkable growth for the past 15 years with four new housing areas and
an increase in population.
Dike.......................................................pop. 944
Dike is quickly becoming the sought after address of
people wishing to escape the city. Residents enjoy the simplicity,
friendliness and low-stress environment that a small town offers with
all the amenities of Waterloo and Cedar Falls only miles away. In
addition to new housing, Dike is the new recreational center for Grundy
County. The new 255 acre conservation/recreation area includes a
lake, hiking trails, camping facilities, and picnicking areas all less
than a half mile from the center of town.
Grundy

Located in the middle of the world's best producing land, Grundy Center
is the governmental and economic center of the county's 12,500
residents. The pride the local residents have in their community is
evident in the busy main street, beautiful homes, safe environment,
spacious parks, excellent schools, and prosperous hospital. The
progressive town has several new housing developments as well as
business and industrial parks.

This pleasant community is nestled in the heart of the county only three
miles from Grundy Center. Residents here enjoy a peaceful lifestyle in a
safe, small-town atmosphere.
Morrison..................................................pop.97
Five miles east of Grundy Center is the village of Morrison where people
enjoy a quiet life among the large oak trees. Morrison is also home to
the Grundy County Conversation Center. The modern center serves Grundy
County residents as not only a meeting place but also as an educational
tool, teaching natural and cultural history of the area.
Reinbeck................................................pop. 1609
Reinbeck is located in southeast Grundy County just minutes away from
Cedar Falls and Waterloo. Reinbeck offers visitors a unique shopping
experience in a downtown that includes gift shops and a refurbished soda
fountain. Tow parks offer a relaxing venue in an undeveloped area along
Black Hawk Creek or an area with facilities for baseball, soccer,
basketball, tennis and new aquatic center.
Stout.......................................................pop. 217
Founded by the railroad in 1900, Stout used to be quite a town with a
lumber yard, gas station, car dealer, bank, general store, hotel and
church built along hte railroad line running through Dike to
Parkersburg. It is now a "bedroom community" for people working in the
nearby larger towns.
Wellsburg................................................pop. 716
The quaint village of Wellsburg was established in 1880 by German
immigrants from Ostfiesland. Throughout the community there are signs of
connections between this small agricultural town and their "mother
County." Wellsburg is located within tow miles of the new Highway 20
which means wonderful things. The community has become very active in
creating TIF areas, an industrial park and new housing development.
