This corncrib, which now
serves as the canvas for “Crossed Canoes,” was built in 1951, and is still being used to store ear corn. The farm itself was purchased in 1916 by Johannes de Neui, Eileen’s grandfather. Her parents, Ernest and Verna de Neui, lived here until 1981, and Bob and Eileen acquired the farm in April of 2004. Owners and employees of The Brick Bungalow and Scrappin N More (two local Wellsburg businesses) painted this quilt block in October of 2005, and these two businesses serve as the sponsors for this quilt block. |
