The 2008 Barn Quilts of Grundy County calendars are
available!
If you are unable to make it to one of these locations to purchase a
calendar, please contact us and we will mail one to you for the price of the
calendar plus postage. The Barn Quilt calendar was very popular
in 2007, so hurry and get yours while they last!

Barn Quilt Postcards and Notecards are now
available at the Brick Bungalow in Wellsburg. These cards are
5-1/2” x 4-1/4” and feature sketches of the 13 original barn quilts that
were painted in 2004. The cards include the name of the barn owner,
barn sponsor, quilt pattern, and location, as well as a short sentence about
the history of the structure. A set of 13 postcards is also available
for $6.00, and a set of 13 notecards is available for $9.63. For more

Barn Quilt t-shirts and sweatshirts are
available at various locations throughout the county. The shirts are
blue, and feature the Barn Quilt logo prominently on the front.

$5 from the purchase price of each sweatshirt, and $3 from the purchase
price of each t-shirt will go toward funding the continuing activities of

Looking for a new
quilting project? For all those quilters out there, now you can
not only see the Barn Quilts, but make them as well! Kay McKenna
of “Piece at a Time Patterns” in Texas is now working with the Barn
Quilts of Grundy County to create 6”x6” and 12”x12” representations
of not only the quilt blocks themselves, but the entire scene, including
barn, trees, and other surrounding scenery.
Five patterns are currently available in two sizes (6" and 12"):
Don Nason’s Hog House (Windmill), John and Dean Conrad’s barn
(Schoolhouse), Joe and Ina Ross’s corncrib (Corn and Beans), LuVerne
Bakker’s barn (Eight Pointed Star), and Darwin and Mel Engelkes's Corncrib
(Log Cabin). Five other patterns are available in the 12"
size only: Arlyn Billerbeck's barn (Twisted Log Cabin), Dick Wood's corncrib
(LeMoyne Star), Venita Kitzman's corncrib (State Fair), Merla Meester's
corncrib (Weathervane), and Harm and Ursula Harms's corncrib (State
Fair). You can purchase a 6” pattern for $6, and a 12”
pattern for $10. The Conrad General Store also has kits for the
12” blocks (which include fabric) available for $20. $2 from
the purchase price of each pattern will go toward supporting the activities
of the Barn Quilts of Grundy County.

The
Barn Quilt Narrative Tour CD is available! This CD contains directions for a
self-guided driving tour of the Barn Quilt Loop, and includes information
about the history of the county, the towns you will travel through, and the
barns and quilt blocks you will see along the way. When placed in your
computer, the CD also features both current and historical photographs of
the "quilted" barns.
If you would like to purchase a CD but are unable to come to one of these
locations, please contact our office and we will mail one to you for $5.00
plus postage.
