"Churn Dash" is now placed on the Mennenga barn just north of
Wellsburg. The barn and acreage has been in the family since 1979.
It is unsure to know when the barn was actually built. Although in 1926,
the first original barn burned down when a spark blew into the barn from a
thrasher. It was originally used for milking cows, but now used for fat
cattle. It is constructed with brick and wood and now has a steel
roof. This brick barn is very unique to Grundy County as there are very
few brick farm buildings.
"Churn Dash" was mounted with the help of Alliant Energy on July 21,
2008.
