The farm of Harold & Katharine Lindaman proudly displays the quilt block
"Fox & Geese." Mounted in October 2008, the block is painted
in blue, yellow, white and orange. Harold requested the color orange be
present on the block somehow because of his love for Allis Chalmers farm
machinery.
The Lindaman farmstead has been in the family for 78 years. Dr. FW and
Mrs. Engelkes bought the land and built the buildings for their daughter and
son-in-law William Lindaman and Cornelia. William & Cornelia Lindaman
lived on the farm and the Engelkes' built their retirement house also on the
farm, but that home has since been removed. Harold Lindaman, the current
owner, was born at the home and still resides there. The barn was built in
1930 and was used for milking, feeding calves and storage for hay and
straw. Currently it is used for storage of antique tractors and
wood.
