The Helmers farm has been in the family for 45 years and was purchased by Roy's parents. The corncrib was built in the 1930's and was originally used for grain storage and is still used for that purpose. The Helmers also have a "Pet Rescue" facility at the farm and they have goats, pot belly pigs, llamas and many dogs and cats. The block was going to mounted on the corncrib, but realizing some trees were in the way, they moved to have the block on the large machine shed just next to the corncrib. "Goose in the Pond" was mounted on August 27, 2007 with the help of Alliant Energy. |
