The “Card Trick” quilt block is located on Arlene Engle’s barn. This block was sponsored, constructed, and painted by John and Julie McNair (Arlene’s daughter and son-in-law) in memory of Julie’s dad who would have been 85 in 2005. This particular block was selected to represent the four children raised on this farm. They spent a lot of time in the barn putting up hay, making forts, counting baby pigs, and hunting for the new litter of baby kittens. The farm has been in the Engle family since 1946, and it is currently farmed by a fourth-generation Engle. |
