The Eilderts family has
owned this farm near Parkersburg since 1966. It is unclear when the barn
itself was built, but it originally served as a dairy barn, and is now used for
fat cattle. The quilt block displayed here is called “Friendship
Star,” and its bright colors are hard to miss while traveling along Highway
14. The Eilderts family constructed and painted their block during the
summer of 2005, and it was mounted with the assistance of Alliant Energy on
October 19, 2005. |
