Arlyn's barn, located northwest of the city of Reinbeck, was built in 1939. The barn has been used for hogs in the past, and is now used for storage. At one time, the barn was painted yellow because of the Guernsey cows that were raised at the farm - milk that is produced from Guernseys has a distinctive yellow color because of the high levels of beta carotene it contains. The quilt block displayed on Arlyn's barn is called "Twisted Log Cabin."
