"Prairie
Flower" now brightens the scenery of the Abbas farm in rural
Wellsburg. The farm has been in the family since 1935 when John G. Abbas
purchased it. The barn was originally used to house feeder cattle, horses
and dairy cows. Four known major renovations have been made to the
building to accommodate the different livestock over the years. Kendall
Abbas, the son of Kenneth & Dailene Abbas, decided to have a quilt block put
up because he enjoyed seeing them around the county and thought it would be a
good gift for his mother. Alliant Energy mounted the block in October
2008.
