This quilt block, "Destination", was painted and installed during the Summer of 2010.  Although the block now sits at the home of Paul & Judy Wiarda, their granddaughter, Becca Wiarda, designed and painted the quilt block for a County 4-H project.  The design is 100% Becca's and we all couldn't be more proud of her great work!

The Wiarda farm has been in the family for over 140 years and was purchased by Fokke B. Hayunga in 1866.  The barn was built around the 1900's and was originally used for horses, beef cattle and dairy.  It now houses cattle and a few 4-H pigs.  Hay is still stored in the top.  It has always been a working barn and is still being used.  The Wiarda's put slate siding and a steel roof on it.  The barn went through a tornado in 1972, but survived!
